Close friend Katya Lewis called Hannah a “warm and beautiful soul,” adding, “Being with Hannah made me feel whole and happy.”
Jon Mitropoulos-Monk, her English teacher, praised her as a rare student who “combined sky-high intellectual ability with warmth and enthusiasm.” Hannah, one of the top English students in the country, achieved a perfect score in her English literature GCSE and was eagerly looking forward to studying at Oxford.

The British-flagged vessel, boasting one of the world’s tallest masts, succumbed to a violent storm on Monday, its mast breaking in half before the yacht quickly sank. The disaster claimed the lives of six people, including prominent figures like Morgan Stanley International director Jonathan Bloomer and his wife Judy, as well as American lawyer Chris Morvillo and his wife Neda.
Fifteen people were rescued from the wreck on the first day, while the body of the yacht’s chef, Recaldo Thomas, was the first to be recovered.
As Hannah Lynch’s Mother who was among the 15 rescued on the first, her other loved ones, and other affected families grapple with their loss, the investigation into the yacht’s sinking continues.
Authorities are working to understand how the 56-meter vessel could have been overtaken so swiftly by the storm. Security footage suggests a waterspout may have been the final blow, but questions remain about the handling of the situation onboard.
Giovanni Constantino, CEO of The Italian Sea Group, has indicated that certain avoidable mistakes may have contributed to the disaster, emphasizing the need for stringent protocols
As the investigation continues, the world mourns the loss of these six lives, and the finality of this tragedy weighs heavily on all who have followed it.
