Amaarae blasts Kwasi Aboagye and Tilly Akua Nipaa: Stop misconstruing my comments

Ghanaian-American singer, songwriter, producer, and engineer Ama Serwah Genfi, known professionally as Amaarae has registered her displeasure at attempts by Kwasi Aboagye, host of Entertainment Review on Peace FM, and a pundit Tilly Akua Nipaa to misconstrue a recent comment made by her on social media.

Amaarae in a tweet (which has since been deleted) wrote, “Politicians don’t gaf about your internet protests. Kidnap one of they kids or sth.”

The tweet seemed to have come at a time when many Ghanaians had voiced out their discontent with the Government of Ghana over its inability to fix the country as promised. The tweet was welcomed with mixed reactions.

During a recent discussion on Peace FM, Tilly (a pundit) opined it was unfortunate for Amaarae to suggest kids of politicians are kidnapped to help in the call to #FixTheCountry agenda.

Kwasi Aboagye also suggested such comments condemned especially since they are often made on social media.

However, Amaarae believes her comments were misconstrued as she has never used her platforms to discuss anything Ghana.

In a series of tweets, the Fancy hitmaker and winner at the 3Music Awards wrote;

Amaarae dared the host and pundit or any other person to produce any comments made directly by her about the online protests.

Amaarae further explained why she chose not to use any of her platforms to comment on anything related to Ghana.
