KNUST appoints first-ever female vice-chancellor

The council of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has appointed Professor Mrs Rita Akosua Dickson, Professor of Pharmacognosy as Vice-Chancellor of the institution.

The announcement of her appointment as Vice-Chancellor for the University comes up after the University Council in a special meeting held on Thursday, June 25, 2020, accepted the report of the search committee.

Professor Mrs Rita Akosua Dickson will serve a four-year term as the Vice-Chancellor of KNUST with effect from August 01, 2020 – July 31, 2024.

In September 2018, Professor (Mrs) Rita Akosua Dickson was appointed the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, making her the first female to occupy this position
